The HobbyZone Apprentice STOL S 700mm has been scaled down from some of the most popular trainer aircraft ever designed to make learning to fly radio-controlled (RC) airplanes easy and fun! Its ultra-micro size makes it the perfect choice for a smaller trainer model that can be flown in large yards, parks, soccer fields, football fields and other suitable spaces where larger models cant typically be flown successfully by first-time pilots. Featuring a more traditional trainer design, its also been optimized to offer STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) capabilities like the iconic E-flite Timber series models. The brushless power system is compatible with common and affordable 2S 300mAh batteries, and also gives it the power to fly in wind that other ultra-micro and mini-class trainer models cant typically handle (up to 5 mph). That power, combined with the taildragger landing gear and oversized tires, gives it the ability to take off almost immediately from paved, dirt, gravel, and even the grass surfaces found at many parks and sports fields. The advanced EPO construction is lightweight yet incredibly durable, and the removable wing makes transport, storage, and replacement as convenient as possible. Full 4-channel control plus SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology with Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced flight modes makes it easy to learn to fly successfully and to advance into performing aerobatics including loops, rolls, and even inverted (upside down) flight at the flip of a switch!
The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes everything needed to fly in one box and is a perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot. From the Spektrum SLT6 2.4GHz controller/transmitter you can use with other Bind-N-Fly (BNF) Basic aircraft compatible with SLT FHSS technology (future availability) after you learn to fly, to the 2S 300mAh rechargeable LiPo (Lithium Polymer) battery and a convenient USB-C charger that can be used with a variety of USB power sources, there's nothing extra you need to buy! A BNF Basic version is also available for experienced pilots who want to use their favorite Spektrum transmitter along with batteries and chargers they may already own. And for both versions, the powerful and efficient brushless motor, ESC, dual-protocol (DSMX/DSM2 and SLT FHSS) receiver, and servos are all factory-installed in the durable EPO airframe thats nearly ready to fly right out of the box. Simply install the wing using the included thumbscrews and you can be flying in minutes no glue or tools are required!
The RTF version also includes a Steam key to download and activate a trial version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator. The simulator features many of the most popular Horizon Hobby trainer airplanes and helicopters, including the Apprentice STOL S 700mm, and built-in Virtual Flight Instructor lessons. This helps new pilots learn to fly successfully by practicing on a desktop PC at home or on a laptop just about anywhere else! Simply use a USB-C cable (not included) to connect the included SLT6 controller/transmitter to a compatible USB port on your computer to fly for up to 100 minutes. Then you can purchase RealFlight Trainer Edition or Evolution to fly any time and for as long as youd like!

Its more powerful and efficient than brushed motors, which gives the Apprentice STOL S the power to fly in winds that other ultra-micro and mini-class trainer models cant typically handle (up to 5 mph).
The oversized tires and steerable tailwheel make it possible to taxi, take off from and land on a variety of surfaces that are impossible for most models of this size to handle. From the grass surfaces found at many parks and sports fields, to gravel paths and paved surfaces.
Construction with advanced EPO material delivers a lightweight yet durable airframe that's tough enough to handle everyday flying punishment without getting bent out of shape. The Apprentice STOL S arrives mostly factory-assembled with the power system, servos and receiver installed. All you need to do is slide the landing gear into the fuselage then install the wing using two convenient thumbscrews and youll be ready to fly within minutes of opening the box no glue or tools required!
Orders are shipped by either Australia Post, TNT, Toll or Fastway Couriers, please understand these services operate Monday to Friday as a general rule. We have electronic tracking via the carriers but cannot divert goods from the original address given.

Free Freight Offer
Our Free Freight option on goods over a certain value applies to online orders only and may change without notice due to commercial competition so please always check this category. We reserve the right to quote freight separately for any oversize, large, heavy or bulky goods which may be ordered. Free shipping may not apply to some oversize items, or orders containing Dangerous Goods.
Dangerous Goods
Some items such as rocket engines and RC fuel require additional charges due to “Dangerous Goods” category. Due to these items being sent by a courier, someone must be home to receive the item, or a slip may be left instead. These items cannot be shipped to PO boxes. Please note, rocket engines of size 'E' or higher cannot be shipped. They can only be picked up in store.
Oversize Items
Any items that are larger than 1 metre in any dimension are considered an oversize item and are not accepted by Australia post and as such, require additional charges to be sent by courier. Due to these items being sent by a courier, someone must be home to receive the item or a slip may be left instead. These items cannot be shipped to PO boxes.

We offer a 14-day return policy for any unopened, undamaged product in original condition.
Contact us within 14 days of delivery and we will gladly accept your return. Then package and ship it back to us. Once received, we will arrange a credit or refund.
You must make sure that the returned product is suitably packaged to prevent damage during return shipping. We will not accept responsibility for goods, which are damaged whilst in transit back to us.
A copy of the original invoice or reference number must be included with the returned product. If proof of purchase is not provided, we may not be able to offer a replacement product, credit, or refund.
Please note, for change of mind returns, it is the customers responsibility to pay for return postage.

Upon receipt of a faulty product, we will either test the product ourselves or return the product to the manufacturer or supplier for assessment. Goods that require testing may take up to 30 business days.
If a fault is detected, and is not due to wear and tear, or misuse, we will offer you a replacement, credit, or refund.
If the fault does not fit the above criteria and is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, then a replacement, credit or refund may not be provided. We may offer to repair the product at your cost. We will provide an estimate of any charges before commencing with any repairs.
We will normally issue a credit note within 10 business days of us receiving the goods returned in accordance with this policy. Goods that require testing may take up to 30 business days. The credit notes which are issued can then be used as a payment against future purchases or converted to a refund.
All refunds will be returned to the payment method used for the original purchase. If for any reason we cannot refund to the original payment method, we may require ID to be sighted to verify identity, or offer store credit in lieu of a refund.
