• The Wine Team Notes: This wine is a personal favoutite of The Wine Team (TWT) A wine that punches about it weight. The brother of this wine won the best red at the Royal Sydney Wines Show,nbsp; a few years ago. You can't go wrong with any of he wines from the Penley Estate,nbsp;

  • Wine: 2010 Penley Estate Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Appearance: The colour is bright crimson with hints of dark purple due to its oak maturations and specific handling techniques
  • Bouquet: The fragrant aroma consists of violets, black currant leaf ripe wild berry and integrated spice of the Cabernet grape. Complex and well integrated oak characters are evident on the bouquet. Mulberry and blackberry flavours are dominant.
  • Palate: The palate is young and tight with a silky grape tannin mouth feel and elegant complex cear oak, so typical of the Penley style. A very generous mid palate with a hint of liquorice and chocolate that linger on the finish.
  • Maturation: Oak is minimal but discernible, with a small amount of wood tannin and fruit flavours that will aid maturation. Best 1 to 5 years.
  • Alcohol/Volume: 14.5%
  • Accompaniment: Enjoy with rib eye steak, cooked medium rare, still on the bone.
