2015 Beauty Round Up
This year has had some great developments in beauty and fashion. We saw the major cosmetics retailer Sephora land its first store in Sydney at the end of 2014. They also announced that Melbourne beauty lovers will be seeing a Sephora store appear by Christmas 2015 at Melbourne Central. I recently attended the Sydney store and I was blown away by the brands they had which are really hard to track down in Australia. We will see the likes of Tarte, Make Up Forever, IT cosmetics and Sephora’s own collection. No longer will we have to be envious of American YouTube bloggers like Gigi Gorgeous and Carli Bybel who have easy access to these products. Watch out Mecca!
Furthermore we saw Too Faced drop their semi-sweet Chocolate Bar palette which was similar to the original but incorporated lighter shades. One of our favourite drug store brands Maybelline, brought out a longer lasting formula of foundation from their Fit Me! Range called Matte & Poreless. Critics have identified it as a Nars Dupe, which makes us really happy because it means we can get the same look for less! One of my favourite hair trends that emerged in 2015 was the grey hair trend that was perpetuated by Kylie Jenner’s 1000 hair colours she wore this year. It has helped women feel free to embrace any look they want with confidence.
In fashion news we saw a comeback in lace up heels and shoes. Chunky platforms said goodbye this year and we saw brands such as Senso Riley emerge with one of the most popular plus comfortable shoe styles called Nano.
We have compiled a list of must have beauty and fashion buys for Christmas 2015. If you are running low on Christmas gift ideas these options are bound to impress any girl who loves to look good!
1. Contour Kits
2015 was the year of the contour and it is here to stay. We have seen incredible transformations with contour products as they look natural yet conceal under eye circles and create a chiselled face structure. Once you start contouring you can never go back.
Black watches made a fierce entrance into fashion this year. They go with any outfit and look effortlessly cool. Ditch the classic gold and silver for a black designer watch.
3. Neutral Lip Liner
2015 was the year of the Kylie Jenner lip challenge, but whilst we watched that unfold we began to appreciate the effect lip liner can have. You don’t need to go overboard with the lip liner you use but you can use it to highlight your natural lips. Find great lip liners from MAC or for budget conscious buyers Chi Chi has a great range.
4. Camel Coat
Camel everything was the trend this year. I love this trend because it truly is universally flattering on every skin or hair colour. The best part about it, a camel coat will automacally make you look on trend despite your other clothing. If you are looking to buy a clothing for girls this Christmas this is definetly a safe bet!
