So with the rise of these conscious suppliers, we will see a surge for these types of goods. Companies that care about where their furniture and homewares are produced and how will be the go-to suppliers for many interior designers when sourcing products. Gina Ciancio from Style Curator offers her prediction for interior design. “For many years the restrained and often monochromatic Scandinavian style was the dominant interior design trend in Australia but we’re seeing a shift now towards more warm, layered and colourful interiors. There’s a growing appreciation for natural and more tactile materials – not just in decor but textured wallpapers and paints too. Also, we’re seeing a greater awareness of sustainability in manufacturing and storytelling of ‘the maker’. For example, furniture and décor are made from recycled plastic bottles. Blue is the new pink, according to trend reports. Layering different shades of blue is a great way to add depth of field to your space, whether it be using a navy blue armchair on top of a plush rug in cerulean.
