1. Leonie Fitzgerald - Wealthology
“At Wealthology we’re huge advocates for financial freedom, have an unquenchable thirst for self-education and love to inspire and empower. We are property investment specialists and enjoy helping other humans grow their wealth by challenging them to think differently so they can focus on progressive solutions, rather than problems. We help clients Australia wide and offer a fully mobile service in our hometown of Brisbane, helping our clients tap into a better way to alter the way they will retire. We’ve been known to do business sitting on a milk crate in an air-conditioned shipping container in the bush, in the business class lounge at the airport and even from the back seat of ’67 Mustang driving around seeing the sights of Brisbane on the way to a luxury dinner at the Sofitel Hotel. When we say we’re fully mobile, we mean it!” Follow Wealthology on Facebook.
2. Maya Kiusalaas - My Monday Love
“I used to wake up every morning, getting ready to go to work at my retail store, thinking one day I will be able to work with my passion as a writer. I sent articles around to magazines and blogs, trying to get someone's attention; someone who would see the passion I feel when I write. With English as my second language, it wasn't an easy task. Personally, I knew that I had a lot of good contributions to make in this world but the language barrier was a challenge. I figured that I have to take matters into my own hands and I started my blog. Through my blog, I share those dark thoughts, those inner critic battles and the doubts of actually being able to live through a passion. My goal is to live with passion, through passion and share passions with others, but at the same time balance that true passion with trying to make an income doing so. My dream has always been to live off my writing and I couldn't live a double life anymore. I quit my day job in the retail store and started focusing all of my attention towards my writing. I didn't really have the financial freedom of doing so, but I had to be true to myself and in order to do so I had to cut off some of my safety nets. I had to push myself to take actions. I write for myself to try and sort myself out. I write to learn more about myself as an individual in a world full of different people. I write to inspire others to get to know themselves too. I write with love and passion for love and passion. I am now about to publish my first book. It is the biggest dream I have ever dreamt. I knew that I was going to publish this book 10 years ago, but I didn't find the courage, confidence or mental strength to do so until now. The book is called Free the girl - a story about (finding) self-love, and it is a story for teenagers and young adults where I try to inspire them to get to know themselves. In the book, I give my younger self-advice and teach the younger me stuff I wish I would've known earlier. It is a story about me but mostly about us. Through my story I let the reader ask themselves questions about who they truly are as an individual in different situations. My goal is that they will start to become aware of how they think about themselves, speak to themselves and why they act the way they act in certain situations.
I am an author. I know it, but the world doesn't know it yet. I self-publish because i find that it is closer to the truth. Every day I wake up and I write. I write for my blog, on my book or on the next book which will be my first attempt to write fiction. When I am done the writing I feel as if I have done my whole being a favour. I t feels complete. I feel complete.” Find out more about Maya’s journey on Facebook and Instagram.
