Did you know that beyond online shopping, there are online design services for decorating your home? How great is that?! Extra support instead of going on the design adventure alone. I recently completed a project for a Sydney client who described a room within her home as ‘soulless’. With our online support, she now has a room that is warm and nurturing- the polar opposite to soulless. Project signed, sealed and delivered from over 1200 kilometres away by the My Beautiful Abode studio here in Melbourne.
Our process with working with our online clients isn’t overly dissimilar to that of our local clients. Instead of a home visit we have a phone, Skype or FaceTime conversation, we are emailed images of the spaces to be designed, decorated or styled, as well as adjoining rooms. Once a design brief is created, we are able to have a clear and direct vision of how the room could be.
Three steps for preparing a great design brief, whether for a face to face meeting, online or planning a room on your own;
1. Think about the function and purpose of the room.
2. Existing furniture or artwork that are to be included in the new room.
3. List requests, desires and must-avoids.
One of our main goals when designing is to help people to make confident purchases with a clear vision of how your space could look. ? If you’d like some support in putting together a well-considered, beautiful space, please get in touch- regardless of where you live!
