Upgrading your home can be a costly task, not only financially, but time-wise. It doesn’t have to be, though. Here are some easy ways you can upgrade your home.
MyDeal Pro Tip:
Instead of buying a whole new bed, which can be expensive, and can be a pain when you want to upgrade again, why not get a stylish bed headboard from MyDeal instead? They’re easy to style, can be easy to upgrade whenever you feel like it, and they’re oh-so on trend. You can even use wallpaper to act as a headboard; a feature wall can up the ante for your bedroom and make a real impact on your sleeping space.

"1. Lighting - With any house, lighting is a major point in having a great feel. To create a feeling of openness and luxury you need to start with the lights. Now, you may not have the most high-end apartment but if you invest in making your home well lit, then you are one step closer. Light is also a great way to make the space feel less depressing. So if you are working from home, and spend the most of your day there, you need to add more lights.
2. Mirrors - Mirrors are a great way to add the visual illusion of bigger space. That's why you can put mirrors in small rooms and tight spaces like the bathroom or the hallway.
3. Add a touch of vintage - There is nothing that adds more character to a home than a touch of vintage. Make sure to add something vintage. Keep it small like a lantern or some kind of detail." Find out more about Fantastic Handyman by following them on Facebook.
MyDeal Pro Tip:
An easy way to upgrade your kitchen is by upgrading the smallest things. You don’t need to replace your entire kitchen counter to make an impact, you can do something small like replace the knobs and handles on your cabinets and cupboards. A stylish, modern kitchen tap and matching doorknobs can really spark the flame in a tired kitchen space, as well as painting the cupboards a new colour. Something small can make the biggest difference, and it doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.

“A great deal of home improvements can be done easily in a weekend at home by keen DIYers. A project that can make a huge impact, with a little bit of planning is to re hang your artwork into more of a gallery wall. Replace mismatched frames and download some guides and templates from sites such as Pinterest to help with your layout. Do a dry lay on the floor before banging hooks into the wall. Make sure you use the right kind of hooks for the various sized artworks you may have. Then voila, you have an instant gallery wall that looks like it could be straight out of a design magazine!” Find out more about Green Room Interiors by following them on Facebook and Instagram.
MyDeal Pro Tip:
Hang a mirror to allude to a larger space, and add an extra oomph of style to your room. Mirrors are a great alternative to adding artwork or painting a feature wall, as they reflect the space and make the room appear larger and brighter. There are so many different styles of mirrors that can be used in any space, so you can go wild!

“Determine who will use your bathroom or kitchen and pick a style. Are you a young family with more babies planned? Is it a family bathroom or kitchen or just for a couple? These factors will influence how you design your room and your choice of fixtures: for example if a bathroom is for a couple you may desire a double vanity with two sinks and a luxurious double shower, whereas a young family may choose the practicality of a bathtub and a smaller vanity. Planning is key. After factoring in who will predominantly be using the space, look into trends and what is available to suit your tastes. Do you want a contemporary style, minimalist approach or a more traditional style? Talking to family and friends who have renovated before often helps.” Find out more about The Blue Space by following them on Facebook and Instagram.

“A super quick, easy and affordable way to reinvigorate a space or piece of furniture is to change over the handles. It’s so easy to find unique and quirky, or modern and contemporary handles these days, whether it be a local architectural hardware store, weekend markets, antique or retro stores, large retailers (like MyDeal) or even online through eBay and Etsy. Simply remove the existing handle, measure the distance between the two holes (if only a single hole even better!) and then start searching for a replacement handle with those dimensions (there are a lot of standard sizes so you should be okay!). Hot tip! If you’re trying to screw in a new handle and the existing hole is too large, pop the end of a matchstick or two into the hole, cut off the excess and try again – you’ll find a much firmer fit immediately. This tip has helped me out MANY a time through the years. I once replaced all the dated ellipse style stainless steel kitchen pulls in a rental I was in, to matte black lineal pulls and it completely changed the vibe from a boring ‘builders choice’ kitchen into a contemporary look! Cost less than $20 to achieve with handles purchased through eBay. The same can be achieved by changing over pulls and knobs on furniture and doors to something metallic, porcelain, glass or lucite. Another dramatic change can be achieved by replacing or adding a new top to existing side tables or dining tables. Go crazy and invest in a custom top made of engineered stone like Caesarstone or Corian, or dabble in utilitarian textures with concrete, ply or cork. If you’re up for a little DIY, then take a chance, purchase a tin of paint and revive an old favourite with a new colour – it really is amazing what a new hue can do.” Find out more about Crystal Amesbury by following her on Facebook and Instagram.

"The bathroom is one room we tend to spend a lot of time thinking about when it comes to renovations. It’s also a room where you can get a lot of value and enjoyment from, without spending a considerable amount of time and money. For under a grand, you can turn your tired, old bathroom into a chic showpiece for you, your family and your guests to enjoy. Upgrading your vanity unit is a good place to start. Just about everyone in the house spends a decent chunk of their morning in front of the mirror and hand basin and it’s reasonably easy to install a new one yourself. All you need is some basic tools, caulk and a water supply line. If you’re a savvy secondhand shopper, you could pick up some vintage tiles, a reconditioned mirror or some sconce lighting fixtures for an art deco feature wall. But if money’s no object, why not go all-out and install touchless tapware for an ultra modern bathroom feature? For homes in the southern states of Australia, under tile heating can be a luxurious addition for your bathroom renovation. Find out more about Renovation Kingdom by following them on Facebook.
