Australia holds a reputation as one of the world’s best destinations for exploring the outdoors. Adventurers young and old flock here year-round for a taste of nature and gorgeous camping spots. But not everyone feels at home without life’s little luxuries. Enter ‘glamping’ - the crossroads of nature and luxury. Here’s how to glamp it up on your next outdoor adventure.
Upgrade your tent
We know what you’re thinking; tents have come a long way since the good ol’ days of 4 poles and a waterproof cover. There’s 2-man, 4-man, 6-man and more! But none of these modern camping solutions are up to scratch when it comes to glamping. Give yourself the full treatment with a tent by GlamXperience - think luxury fitouts with a vintage cross bohemian aesthetic. Started in Europe almost ten years ago, they’re determined to teach Melbourne the true meaning of glamping. For more info follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
Ditch the sleeping bag
Some of us with more delicate princess and the pea sensibilities just can’t seem to find a way to enjoy a good night’s sleep without a little extra padding. Who said you had to leave the bed behind on your camping trip? Think outside the box and bring along an inflatable mattress or airbed - comfortable and portable.
Leave the instant coffee at home
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate - all family favourites but let’s be honest they’re not all that exciting. Indulge your fellow glampers with some hot apple cider instead. This one is lactose free, vegan and suitable for all ages. That’s not to say it wouldn’t pair nicely with a splash of something alcoholic for the adult glampers. Follow Those Girls Beverage Co on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Get off the ground
There’s nothing wrong with sitting on a log or going au naturel on the ground but that’s not what this trip is about. If you’re a true glamper you’ll stand for nothing less than cushiony soft outdoor furniture. May we recommend a nice fat bean bag?
Go on - take a seat, grab a drink and look out on all those envious faces wishing they knew how to bring luxury with them when they take a trip outdoors.
