Here is what this friendly, passionate and lively Melbourne Girl has to say.
What is your name?
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a Melbourne gal who loves fashion, style and design. By day I run a digital marketing agency called Milkbar Digital, by night I am an avid online shopper and collector of black boots.
What is the name of your blog?
Style Paws – named after the two things I love in life – cats and fashion.
How did you get into blogging?
I actually started blogging way before ‘blogging’ was a thing, when I was a teenager and very much into Diaryland and LiveJournal. I started my first fashion-oriented blog when I launched an online vintage store back in 2008 as a way of communicating with my customers, and it has evolved into being a part of who I am to this day.
Tell us a bit more about what your social media/ blogs include.
A lot of what I’m wearing, what is inspiring me at the moment and a lot of what’s on my plate. One of my other hobbies is food – my partner and I are massively into cooking, so this comes across a lot on my Instagram.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
The city I live in! Melbourne is so inspiring when it comes to anything creative and I work in the hub of it all, Cremorne. I’m inspired by the amazing street style I see around me every day (a lot of fashion brands and design houses are in this area) and also the fun street art, new cafes and restaurants popping up and the thriving community of creatives. I’m also heavily inspired by years gone by – my ultimate style icons are all from the 60s and 70s era. Stevie Nicks, Edie Sedgwick, Pattie Boyd, etc.
What got you into fashion and styling?
As a kid I was obsessed with playing dress-up, especially my mum’s old 60s and 70s wardrobe. This kick started a love of vintage clothing and I try to incorporate an element of this in my wardrobe everyday.
What are styles in fashion and design that we should be looking out for this summer?
Pleats – especially micro pleats. Lace is back again, though it never really left. I also think emerald green will be a big colour in both fashion and interior design.
What are 3 all-time fashion staples everyone should own?
Black ankle boots with a comfortable heel, a red lipstick in a shade that is perfect for your skin tone, and a party dress that always makes you feel amazing no matter what you’ve eaten or plan on eating!
We know that you are a flower girl, what is another household decor that you love?
Vinyl records. Not only practical but they say volumes (get it) about your personality and are a great display item and make a wonderful talking piece. You can also find plenty of them super cheap!
