This 36V wrench will work with Hikoki's Multivolt batteries only. It will not operate with Hitachi 18v batteries. If you currently have Hikoki / Hitachi 18v gear then all you need to do is purchase a new battery (BSL36A18) and this battery will operate your new 36V wrench and also your current 18v slide tools. The battery will also be able to be charged in your existing charger.
HiKOKI MultiVolt gives its user AC Power with DC freedom, now made even better by a level of convenience and superior technology you won't get from other tools. HiKOKI MultiVolt gives double voltage supply in one battery (not included) meaning you simply snap it into place and power on, regardless of whether you're using 36V or 18V tools.
