Cameroon Treasures Vintage Makenge Basket
The Vintage Makenge Basket is made from from Zambia and is crafted by the Mbunda people. They are made from various parts of large bushes that grow in the region and are coloured by natural dyes. Makenge Baskets are handed down through the family and sometimes bear the markings of being cinged by fire - now that's the kind of item we adore! Beautiful and practical and there's a story behind every one - timeless in every way.
Today we too can enjoy these organic and rustic beauties to also serve food or as decor in our homes. They'll certainly offer an authentic and earthy element wherever they find their home.
