TABLETOP STIRLING ENGINE

Power this super-cool Stirling Engine with a hot cup of tea! One of Yellow Octopus’ wondrous creations; the original Stirling Engine was actually patented in 1816 by the Robert Stirling who designed it to replace the notoriously dangerous steam engines during the industrial revolution. Where steam engines require very high temperatures and pressures to function, the Stirling Engine uses heat sources to cause the expansion and contraction of gas inside the chamber, which in turn drives the piston.

To get this cool engine firing, simply apply a heat source that is 20 degrees Celsius greater than the environmental temperature. If you don’t have a cup of tea, a very warm hand on a very cold day will work! Back at our Yellow Octopus HQ, we even have on running off the top of our internet router!
