LED vs. Halogen
EFFICIENCY: Of course, the efficiency of LED lights is a big bonus. They consume about 90% less power than traditional bulbs and are extremely energy efficient, resulting in a significantly reduced lighting cost. As power bills continue to rise, such efficiency can lead to a much smaller power bill and significant savings.
ON/OFF TIME AND CYCLING: LEDs light up very quickly and reach full brightness almost instantly. Unlike fluorescent lamps which burn out more quickly when cycled or HID lamps that require a long time before restarting, they are also able to handle frequent on/off cycles with no loss of performance.
DIMMING: LEDs can be dimmed.
COOL LIGHT: LEDs emit no UV radiation or heat that can cause damage to sensitive objects or fabrics.
LIFETIME: LEDs can have a relatively long life - 30,000 to 50,000 hours. Fluorescent tubes are typically rated at about 8000 hours, depending partly on the conditions of use, and halogen lamps at 2,000 to 4,000 hours.
SHOCK RESISTANCE: LEDs, being solid state components, are difficult to damage with external shock, unlike fluorescent and halogen bulbs which are fragile.

Purchased 12 of these 12 months ago for our holiday house and love the DAY LIGHT hue, it still gives out a white light but it's not the white/white light so it looks great in older house styles. Best value LED downlights of this quality I could find and an added bonus is that accepts cut-out of 90-114mm as we found that the electrician wasn't particular with his cut-outs so we needed close to 95mm, most other downlights were only 90mm. Just about to purchase another 8 of these lights to start replacing the LED downlights from another manufacturer that are starting to fail.

Fantastic value, very happy with the lights. I've reordered more as the savings down the track will be worthwhile.
