Fender The Strat 1982 Lake Placid Blue

Up for sale is a piece of vintage Fender history . . . a very rare
1982 Fender The STRAT Stratocaster in classic Lake Placid Blue
with a nice contrasting Rosewood fingerboard and matching headstock.

Fender introduced The STRAT with STRAT in capital letters on the headstock,
model in 1980, during the CBS era of ownership. It was designed as an upgrade to the standard Stratocaster model of the time, and it cost $250 more than the standard model.
The STRAT has some pre-CBS specifications, and at this time, CBS management was becoming very aware that the sales and popularity of their late 1970's models was declining whereas the reputation of the pre-CBS Strats was increasing. In addition to the pre-CBS features of a 4-bolt neck joint, small 1953-1965 style headstock, and no bullet truss rod nut,
The STRAT included some new features . . . 2-way rotary pickup selector switch replaced the middle tone control combined with the 5-way selector provided 9 different pickup combinations.

The STRAT also included a higher output Fender X-1 bridge pickup, and colour-matching headstock. The controls and hardware were 22K gold plated and equipped with a heavy brass tremolo (for extra sustain), gold plated knobs, brass tuners and tremolo bar.

This stunning guitar is all original and in good condition, comes with it's original Fender hardshell case: Please note that one lock is broken, a Fender guitar strap is also included.
