GROUPISM BY EDDIE BOTHA
Life is about Interaction. Here people are divided into layers and groups, yet, all together as a unit living everyday life. People are all connected in some way, yet we have our separate individual lives. I drew some groups to be actively connected with a string, whilst others are connected in a metaphorical sense. The theme of connection deals with both cultural and social connections. In an era where people are less and less connected due to electronic devices, I find it an important topic to ponder on. People are divided into groups, layers, and often reaches out to other layers and aims to cross barriers and form better connections, breaking the status quo. Each layer in this work has children as they are an integral part of our society and obviously are the future of humanity. This artwork has 398 people drawn of it, real people.
