The Shadow EQ JW1 is an active pickup system for ukuleles, containing an onboard preamp with volume and tone controls in a radius shaped case. It comes with an active Nanoflex pickup and a high quality endpin connection. Nanoflex pickups sense the vibrations of the strings and the movements of the soundboard simultaneously. By doing so, the sound is sweet and percussive with an exact attack. This gives the feeling of having a microphone mixed with an undersaddle pickup.
