What is Sodium percarbonate?
Sodium percarbonate is known as an oxygen bleach, and is formed when sodium carbonate has been treated with hydrogen peroxide, and when dissolved in water, releases a powerful combination of oxygenated hydrogen peroxide and sodium carbonate.
There are two types of bleach, oxygen bleaches and chlorine bleaches. Oxygen bleaches are eco-friendly, whereas chlorine bleaches are hardcore and can make your eyes water!!!
Sodium percarbonate is non-toxic, environmentally safe, biodegradable, and leaves no harmful by-products or residues which can harm the environment, is non-flammable, non-explosive and soluble in water.
AND... it removes MOULD!!!!!...need I say more!

Does Sodium percarbonate really remove mould?

BUT...always follow up with diluted Clove Bud. Sodium percarbonate removes the stain, and Clove Bud will kill the Mould spours - which are the dangerous part. Once you have removed the mould stain, spray with diluted Clove Bud and leave for 24hrs. It takes 24hrs to kill the spours - and then wash as normal.
Is Sodium percarbonate like bleach?
No! Sodium percarbonate is not a chlorine bleach, instead, it is an environmentally friendly version, known as an oxygen bleach, that is safe on colours, whiten whites, and as an added bonus, does not weaken fabrics like traditional bleach. Chlorine bleach uses an oxidizer to break chemical bonds and release the stain-causing substance. In traditional chlorine bleach, a highly toxic substance called sodium hypochlorite is used as the oxidizer. Chlorine bleach is very poisonous (dioxin and chloroform are by-products) and it can create highly toxic chlorine gas if mixed with ammonia.
How is Sodium percarbonate different to other oxygen bleaches?
Other oxygen bleaches generally contain around 30% Sodium percarbonate and fillers. But Neatspirations Sodium percarbonate is 100% pure, and has no added fillers.
Will Sodium percarbonate weaken my fabric like chlorine bleach?
No! It does not weaken fabrics like chlorine bleach, nor does it cause yellowing or greying over time.

Is there anything you cannot use Sodium percarbonate for?
Sodium Percarbonate is not suitable for use with silk or wool.
Sodium Percarbonate will not remove rust stains or mineral deposits from hard water.
Is Sodium percarbonate safe for septic systems?
Yes! However, as Sodium Percarbonate is antibacterial, it may kill the good bacteria in the septic tank, causing the "sludge" to lose its crust, if too much Sodium percarbonate is used.
How to use Sodium percarbonate.
Mould
Add six tablespoons, equivalent to one capful of sodium percarbonate to every two litres of boiling water for at least one hour, or overnight, then wash as normal. If mould still remains, repeat.

Pre-soak
Add one to four tablespoons of sodium percarbonate to every 4 litres of hot water for at least one hour, or overnight, then wash as normal.
Hot water accelerates the soaking action. In cold water soak items for longer. Dissolve powder in water prior to submerging clothing or fabrics, do not apply powder or concentrate onto fabrics.
Washing Machine
Add 2-3 tablespoons to the powder section of your washing machine alongside your normal detergent or dissolve 2-3 tablespoons in hot water and add to your washing machine, alongside your normal detergent.
Note: Sodium Percarbonate solutions will remain active for 5 to 6 hours. Do not store diluted solution in closed container.
Discard unused material down the drain. It will actually help clean and deodorize your drains.
Sodium percarbonate solutions are most effective when mixed and used in very hot to boiling water.
