Where does the Collagen come from?

Nutra Organics proudly source all of their bovine collagen from the most reputable, sustainable and ethical manufacturer in the world. The cattle are located in both Germany and Brazil. Nutra Organics' manufacturer is the global leader for collagen manufacturing and innovation, and are the only company to have created scientifically formulated collagen peptides that are backed by multiple peer reviewed studies.

Is the collagen sustainable?

Yes! Nutra Organics is passionate about sustainability, which is another reason why they chose to partner with their Collagen manufacturer. Their manufacturer's 2019 Sustainability Report details everything from their sustainable production processes to their commitment to the highest animal welfare standards.

There are concerns that all agricultural farms in Brazil are a result of deforestation, and that the collagen industry contributes to this issue. Nutra Organics is very proud to deliver the highest quality collagen product available on the global market, and part of the criteria that assures this is the sustainable origin of their ingredients. Their Collagen is produced as a by-product of the pre-exisiting meat industry, and therefore is actually responsible for reducing a huge portion of food waste. It’s important to note that no land is cleared in the name of collagen and further, no cattle are killed to produce it directly, rather the animal hide is derived from abattoirs of the meat industry already present.

Nutra Organics certainly understand that deforestation is a global issue and have taken steps to address this through their Project Give Back and Sustainable Packaging.

Why bovine collagen?

Nutra Organics thought long and hard about this one. In the end they decided on bovine collagen for the following reasons:

  • Bovine hide is a by-product of an industry that is already well established, so it reduces waste, and therefore up-cycles the parts of the animal that would otherwise be disposed of.
  • Traceability of bovine sourced collagen is much clearer than marine collagen (so it’s easy to ensure that the collagen comes from healthy, well cared for cows. “Marine” collagen is rarely even “marine” as it mostly comes from fish farms rather than the ocean, and our oceans are majorly over fished already as it is).
  • The amount of collagen that you get from one cow is massive compared to one fish. Making it much more cost effective and affordable.

There are a lot of misconceptions about the size of collagen peptides from bovine source vs marine source. One is not “bigger” or “smaller” than the other. The size of collagen peptides relies on the hydrolysis process. This is the process where collagen fibres are broken down into small peptide chains. The collagen that Nutra Organics use has been specifically hydrolysed to be the correct size and shape for optimal absorption and utilisation by the body, specific for it’s function!

What are Verisol Bioactive Peptides?

In order to explain what Verisol peptides are, first there's a need to understand what a peptide is and how it is different to just your regular hydrolyzed collagen. A peptide is essentially a chain of amino acids that are biologically active, meaning because the specific size of the chain - it will have a very specific effect within the body.

There are specific enzymes that break down each collagen peptide chains within collagen powder into different final molecular weight profiles. This results in differing remaining peptide chains within the collagen powder. The individual amino acids remain the same, but it is the length of the connected amino acid chains (peptides) and the different ends of the chains that are specific to each collagen peptide product and determine its function. Verisol® is made up of specific collagen peptide chains designed to target collagen production in skin specifically.

Is there a whole serve of Collagen Beauty in my bar?

The short answer is no, because eating 12 grams of collagen in a bar would taste kinda funky and the bar would not be a bar, but actually just a floppy jelly squidge wrapped beautifully in home compostable packaging.

So long answer, Nutra Organics didn’t do the full 12 grams, BUT there is still one full serve of Collagen Beauty’s Bioactive Collagen Peptides (Verisol®) in each bar. These peptides are what make Collagen Beauty so effective at targeting skin wrinkling, hydration and elasticity. Plus they’ve also made sure that there is still a good whack of Hydrolyzed Collagen in there, as the amino acids present in this kind of collagen will form the building blocks necessary for tissue structure and repair in skin. So never fear, Collagen Beauty Bars will be just as effective at combating skin aging signs as Collagen Beauty Powder.

What is Camu Camu and Orgen-Zn® Guava and why are they in my bar?

Camu Camu (Mycaria dubia) is a native Peruvian fruit grown on the banks of rivers throughout the amazon. The soil in this part of the world is fed organically by the rivers as they flood once a season to provide a plethora of nutrients. The most abundant of which is Vitamin C. Camu Camu is one of the world’s richest natural sources of Vitamin C and has been traditional utilised by occupants of the rainforest to support eye, heart and skin health as well as immunity throughout the centuries. It is now known that Vitamin C is essential to supporting collagen production in the skin. Being a whole fruit source of Vitamin C, the bioavailability (ability of the body to absorb) of this nutrient is far superior than synthetic forms found in most supplements. Further, Nutra Organics' Camu Camu is just 100 % low temperature dried Camu Camu. It is not spray dried as per conventional drying methods, meaning, it retains the highest amount of volatile nutrients that would otherwise be destroyed upon drying.

Similarly to Camu Camu, Guava is a natural plant source of zinc. Nutra Organics' Orgen-Zn® Guava is a standardised extract that provides a natural source zinc with a high bioavailability whilst also containing a wealth of other nutrients commonly found in guava such as polyphenols and flavonoids.

These natural sources of vitamins and minerals also mean that Collagen Beauty Bars are suitable for all members of the family to consume as they contain no synthetic vitamins and minerals that are otherwise synthesized in a lab.

Can I eat the bars AND have Collagen Beauty daily?

Short answer - Yes!

Long answer - Yes! Collagen Beauty bars are a great top up to your daily intake of Collagen Beauty. That said, they can also be consumed instead of Collagen Beauty if you want to choose one or the other as both contain one standardised serve of Verisol® Bioactive Peptides.

What is Nutra Organics' home compostable packaging made of?

Home compostable packaging is made from plant based materials that break down naturally and return nutrients back into the soil. Depending on the type of home compostable packaging used, the packaging will be made up of different layers to protect the product and keep it fresh:

  1. Paper

    The paper is sourced from FSC and PEFC certified pulp where suppliers operate in an environmentally, economically and socially responsible way. This is the layer where the branding and details are printed about what is inside the package.

  2. Cellulose

    The next layer is made of eucalyptus trees from managed plantations and have been specifically chosen for their sustainability processes - for every tree felled at least one more tree is grown. This layer stops moisture from getting into the package and ruining the product.

  3. Bio- Polymer

    This layer is made from non-GMO natural crop offcuts from the production of sugarcane, cassava and corn and keep the product fresh.

Adhesives -

Nutra Organics' exclusive natural adhesives used to bind the layers are from completely inert raw materials derived from plant sources and contain no eco-toxins.

Printing ink and varnish -

The printing ink and varnish range are plant based and of food grade. They are produced with no heavy metal content within the pigments.

How does home compostable packaging work?

Home compostable packaging is designed to be composted at home.

Once the contents have been finished, the empty package is placed into a home compost bin, along with other household scraps such as banana skins, egg shells or corn cobs.

The package naturally decomposes at ambient temperatures of 20-30°C, as the microorganisms in the compost bin feed on the decaying detritus.

Within 1 week, the package will start to break down naturally, just like other natural plant material.

At 26 weeks, the package will have completely decomposed. Using natural materials and non-GMO raw plant material, the end-product of this concentrated decomposition process is nutrient-rich soil that can help crops, garden plants and trees to grow.

If the packaging does enter waste collection, it will not contribute toxins to landfill.

How do I dispose of it if I don’t have a home compost?

Nutra Organics' compostable packaging is organically recyclable and is a viable alternative to petrochemical based plastic packaging that isn’t being recycled. If it is disposed of in general waste, the packaging will start to biodegrade in the presence of microbes, moisture and oxygen at ambient temperatures.

Will the packaging break down while it is in my pantry?

No, the material will only break down under specific composting conditions.

How long does it take to break down?

Less than 26 Weeks at ambient temperature at < 30c Industrial composting – Less than 12 Weeks at 60c

Is the packaging sustainable?

Yes! Nutra Organics' compostable packaging is made from renewable resources, reducing the reliance on petrochemicals. The materials used are sustainably grown eucalyptus trees, sugarcane, cassava and non GMO corn starch.

Where your item needs to be sent via courier, we will require your phone number. We cannot book courier deliveries without a valid daytime phone number for the recipient.

Dangerous Goods

All Dangerous Goods are shipped through a specialised and dedicated Dangerous Goods Road Service.

Please note - Items designated as Dangerous Goods cannot be shipped via an express or air carrier delivery services, which may result in additional transit days for regional or remote areas.

Colour Disclaimer

We make all reasonable efforts to accurately display colours. Please keep in mind that the actual colour may view differently on your screen. If the item has a colour swatch, we have in most cases professionally edited and colour matched to the range, please use them as a guide only. If you need any clarification, please contact us prior to purchasing. If your order arrives and you are not satisfied with the colour, you can send it back using our returns policy - please note that we cannot accept returns for goods that have been opened.

Delivery Failures

In the event a consignment is returned to us because:

  • An incorrect address was provided by you

  • You failed to collect it from the Post Office or local depot where relevant

  • You were unavailable to sign for delivery

  • You refused the delivery

  • The courier could not access the property

  • You provided an Authority to Leave, but there was no clear safe location at the delivery point for the parcel to be left

A re-delivery fee will be calculated to your delivery address and required to be paid prior to re-dispatch.

In the event of a delivery failure as described above, where you then request a refund, we will deduct the original shipping cost already paid by The Beauty Domain to the delivery contractor from the amount you are refunded.

WARRANTY POLICY

All electrical products come with an Australian/New Zealand compliant plug (AS/NZS 3112) and a minimum of 12 months warranty. Please see each product page for specific warranty information.

 

RETURNS POLICY

We understand that you might need to return something to us for a number of reasons. Before any returns will be accepted or processed, you must contact us within 14 days of receiving the product before sending anything back. This is necessary to ensure the correct procedure is followed so the process is as quick and easy as possible.

Items must be returned to us via tracked postage or courier. Without a verifiable tracking number, you accept full risk of the item not reaching us. Returns not received by us will not qualify for replacement or refund.

1. You changed your mind, found it cheaper somewhere else or decided you don't like the product

  • We offer a 30 day return policy in these situations. That means if you are not satisfied with your purchase, you are welcome to return it to us up to 30 days after you received it for a refund only of the original purchase price, excluding original delivery costs, and less a $10 administration and restocking fee which covers original packaging costs including labour.
  • All returned items must be in brand new, unused condition, in their original shipped packaging, and include all parts and accessories. Except for faulty products, items which have been opened will not be accepted for return. Where returned items are not received by us in brand new condition, we will return them to you once you pay us the cost of redelivery to do so.
  • Return shipping costs are to be borne by you and are non-refundable.
  • Products sold as part of a promotion, products listed as non-returnable, and cosmetics, topical application or personal use products that have been opened but are not faulty are excluded from this change of mind return policy, and cannot be returned.

2. The item arrived damaged or missing something

  • All orders leave our warehouse in brand new undamaged condition. If your item arrives damaged or missing parts, we will gladly replace it for you (or if stocks are exhausted, refund you in full) and reimburse you for any return shipping costs you incur to return the item to us. Please send us a copy of the receipt for any shipping costs you incur.
  • All claims for damaged items must be made within a reasonable amount of time since receiving your order. It is important that you open your order as soon as you get it, and notify us immediately if there is any damage.
  • Please take photographs of any damage and contact us via your myDeal account before sending the item back, as we need to report damage to our insurer, delivery courier and warehouse.

3. The item is faulty

  • Should your product be faulty, please contact us promptly so we can guide you through the correct process for having the fault rectified under the manufacturer warranty. Depending on the manufacturer’s warranty terms and requirements, we will either repair or replace it for you (or if stocks are exhausted, refund you).
  • To return a faulty product, you will need to pay for postage to return it to us in the first instance. We strongly recommend that you use a tracked service. If we don't receive the product for any reason, we won't be able to assist you further. Please make sure you get a receipt and keep it handy. Once we have received the product, and confirmed it is faulty, we will reimburse you for what it cost you to return it to us, based on your receipt (or if you've lost the receipt, the face value of postage shown on the parcel if it's been returned via Australia Post). 
  • Where a returned product is found not to be faulty, a redelivery fee will be calculated to your delivery address and required to be paid prior to sending it back to you. If we agree on a refund instead of redelivering a non-faulty product, we may deduct postage charges already paid by Hair & Beauty Co to the delivery contractor from the amount you are refunded.
