So why Lead Carbon?
Even the best of sealed deep cycle lead-acid battery types such as tubular GEL / OPzV will age and deteriorate more due to operating in what’s known as a ‘partial state of charge’ or PSoC for short. In other words, when the batteries aren’t fully recharged before being used again (or before sundown for solar systems) most of the aging process happens – a bit like the wear caused to a petrol or diesel engine before it’s reached the ideal running temperature.
Lead Carbon batteries however perform remarkably well in this partial state of charge range. Essentially, they are the combination of Super-Capacitor or Ultra-Capacitor (nano carbon technology) with a sealed lead acid battery. They also boast the following improvements:
Off Grid Solar Systems … Shipping Australia Wide
Battery bank reserve capacities for the size options above, will give the following power from full charge down to 30% remaining capacity (70% Depth of Discharge or DoD), without any sunshine:
11.5kWh Bank:
17.2kWh Bank:
23kWh Bank:
28.8kWh Bank:
Solar array – depending on location, the annual daily average in Australia is between 4 to 5 hours equivalent of full power from the array per day (where a 1kW array would give between 4 – 5kWh per day) with more in summer and less in winter. Average daily input figures:
2.3kW array - 9.3kWh per day | 3.1kW array - 12.5kWh per day | 4.6kW array - 18.7kWh per day | 5.4kW array - 21.8kWh per day
A large solar PV array design principle reduces the amount of time the batteries will be low on charge which maximises their life expectancy & provides you with far more reliable power. Effective performance is based on ideal solar orientation for your area.
Create an Off Grid power system. Power will be supplied primarily from the solar panels & battery bank. The inverter can use a petrol or diesel powered generator to recharge the batteries & run the household loads. The system can start the generator automatically when the batteries are low, if the generator is compatible with two wire start.
The inverter charger features a front LCD control panel, which provides information about your solar power input, battery sate & power usage. It can also connect to a computer (software & cable included) to get real time system monitoring information. Settings can also be adjusted via either the LCD or the Software from a PC.
