Organic White Peony Tea (Bai Mudan)
White Peony is one of China’s most famous natural teas (it’s technically the second finest white tea, after Silver Needle Tea). But it isn’t simple to grow: Each silvery bud is plucked from the Da Bai or Narcissus tea bush, and once the tiny leaves begin to open, you’ve got just 48-hours to pick the crop. Harvest too late and you lose that subtle elegance, the light floral touch that makes White Peony so renowned. It’s a fruity, refreshing tea, although some bushes do produce a darker, nuttier yield. The good news? High levels of antioxidants and polyphenols make White Peony a real immune booster.
