The Jaguar D-Type was a sports car with a roadster body style, took many parts from the C-Type including the XK engine. But the futuristic structure was radically different with the innovative monocoque. The distinctive tailfin added aerodynamic stability and was aimed specifically to gain maximum speed at Le Mans.
