The primary purpose of an ND filter is to reduce camera shutter speed. The 180-degree rule of shutter is a standard in motion pictures and cinema. This principle states that shutter speed should be double the frame rate to get each frame to blend together, creating a smooth traditional cinema look. If you are shooting 4K 30 frames per second, you would want your shutter speed to be 1/60th. Generally, the brighter it is outside, the stronger the ND filter you will need.
Included Filters
Polarizer Filter: The fixed Spark Polarizer filter is pre-set to a horizontal polarization angle. A Polarizer helps reduce glare and increase colour saturation and contrast.
ND8: Reduces the camera's shutter speed by 3-stops. Use an ND8 on a cloudy to partly cloudy day for best results.
ND16: Reduces shutter speed by 4-stops. Use on partly cloudy to sunny days.
ND32: Reduces shutter speed by 5-stops. Use on very bright and sunny days.
ND8/PL: Reduces shutter speed by 3-stops and polarizes the scene. Enables a slower shutter speed and increased colour saturation and glare reduction. Great for partly cloudy days.
ND 16/PL: Reduces shutter speed by 4-stops and polarizes the scene. Enables a slower shutter speed and increased colour saturation and glare reduction. Great for sunny days.
Note: DJI Spark drones are shown for demonstration purposes ONLY and are NOT included.
