For those of you new to CCTV there is a recorder this is the box with the Hard Disk Drive and the brains to control and record the cameras that are plugged into this recording box. The cameras are then plugged in using the 18mtr cables (longer cables are available) into any of the 8 channels. This kit is supplied with 4 cameras therefore you have the option to increase the amount of cameras to 8. From experience most houses use between 6 and 8 cameras while smaller retail stores can use as little as 4.
The power and video signal are sent up and down the single camera cable making it very simple to install. Compared to Wireless systems unfortunately wireless systems are not as stable as wired systems therefore we will always recommend a wired system over wireless for stability. Using the mobile phone app allows you to view your camera live or recorded footage on your mobile or tablet. You can be thousands of kilometres away and log in quickly to see what is happening at your premises. This is very handy when you need to know right now what is taking place.
Like any system you do get what you pay for and this system we consider a mid range system with some limitations. Although this system is 2MP 1080P resolution and displays excellent images the frame rate at which it records is 12 frame per second verses 25 real time on some of the more expensive systems. This can lead to a blur when objects move quickly through the
