It takes over 40 steps to make a perfectly forged WÜSTHOF knife out of a high-quality but plain piece of steel. These tasks are performed by 300 or so employees, who have high levels of experience and commitment, guaranteeing a consistently high level of quality for your products.
The forged blade is made from a single piece of chromium-molybdenum-vanadium steel and is hardened to 58° Rockwell during the production process.
The outstanding sharpness and edge retention of WÜSTHOF knives is also thanks to the special laser-controlled PEtec sharpening process.
The special bolster shape ensures optimum balance and allows the entire length of the blade to be used and kept sharp.
The full bolster protects the hand, ensuring safety and a well-balanced distribution of weight.
At WÜSTHOF, the spine of the blade is carefully ground and beautifully smooth (this is known by the technical term “deburring”). No sharp edges are left behind to press uncomfortably into the ball of the thumb.
The ergonomically shaped handles feature durable rivets and no joints..
