The wooden arched slat base is also designed to flex appropriately so that it can better distribute the weight exerted on it. Overall, the bed frame is well-built with reinforced steel bars within its sturdy steel frame. This bed is surprisingly sturdy! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the build and parts when putting it together. The only problem is the headboard is secured by four bolts, so it's not as sturdy as it could be and leans back onto the wall when sitting up in bed to read.
