How is the Mother of Pearl & mother of pearl pieces made?

The Mother of Pearl inlay furniture is made in the magical region of Rajasthan India, using honourably sourced Mother of Pearl and mother of pearl shell.

Each piece is handcrafted by artisans in a process that can take weeks. Delicate carved pieces of Mother of Pearl and shell are individually inlaid onto a wooden frame in elaborate intricate patterns. Layers of coloured resin are then used to fill around the Mother of Pearl and mother of pearl shell.
