The 10'' Bedourie Camp Oven - Made in Australia is manufactured in from spun steel and comes with a lid that fits over the top. This high quality Australian-made Bedourie oven is a much lighter option compared to your traditional cast iron camp oven however it cooks the same and is not as fragile. Bedourie camp ovens can still be used to make all your favourite camping dishes including damper, stews, roasts and stir-fries. The lid also doubles up as a frying pan when you turn it over.

Make sure you season your Bedourie camp oven before you use it.

Dr.Livingstone’s Bedourie ovens were originally made for the Bedourie Station. This station found that when the cast iron camp ovens fell off packed horses or were dropped, they often broke, so they invented the Bedourie which would not break. To keep the heat in you need to half bury the Bedourie in hot ashes with some coals added to the lid and it would cook just as well as the cast iron camp ovens, The Bedourie has one more advantage over the cast iron camp oven, in that the lid fits down over the oven so there is no chance of ashes getting into the oven when you half bury it. Camping food tastes great when made in the Bedourie!
