Sateen is predominantly produced with mercerised cotton. Cotton sateen is used for sheets and bed linens. Sateen sheets are 100% cotton sheets with a high thread count and a lustrious sheen. They are woven from combed, carded, or long-fiber cotton threads that are then mercerized.  Cotton sateen fabric feels soft and smooth on the skin.
