This modern Shiraz/Pinot is built predominantly for early drinking. Bright, silky, popping with fruit and ready to rip. The Yarra Valley is ideally suited to producing these blends and now plenty of producers are catching on. A great example of a non-traditional blend!
Tasting Notes:
The bouquet displays vibrant characters of dark cherry and plum from the Pinot Noir and the subtle pepperiness and leathery undertones from the Shiraz. The palate is complex with fine tannin structure, soft acid, and nuances of French oak. The finish is long and savory. Enjoy this drop with cured meats or roast duck.
Food Pairing:
Pinot Noir pairs well with a wide range of foods—fruitier versions make a great match with salmon or other fatty fish, roasted chicken or pasta dishes; bigger, more tannic Pinots are ideal with duck and other game birds, casseroles or, of course, stews like beef bourguignon.
