SHIELD Carbon Granule Filter (GAC) made by HAYCARB coconut shell activated carbon. The adsorptive capacity of granular activated carbon makes it ideal for removing a variety of contaminants from water. Cartridges effectively reduce unwanted tastes and odors, including chlorine taste & odor from your drinking water. These filters were designed to allow maximum contact between the water and carbon, ensuring optimal adsorption. The construction of the cartridge allows water to enter at one end and pass through the entire length of the filter housing to the other end of the cartridge. GAC Cartridges are available in a variety of sizes, flow rates and connections/fittings, and effectively provide good general-purpose drinking water filtration.

Typically, UF membranes will remove high molecular-weight substances, colloidal materials, and organic and inorganic polymeric molecules. Because only high-molecular weight species are removed, low applied pressures are therefore sufficient to achieve high flow rates from an Ultrafiltration membrane. UF membranes have a service life of three to five years or longer, which is comparable to reverse osmosis membranes. SHIELD Ultrafiltration modules are made from high strength, chemical resistance hollow fiber membranes that was 0.03 μm nominal pore diameter for removal of bacteria, viruses, and particulates including colloids. The 0.03μm nominal pore size combines high filtration performance and high flow. The smaller pore size provides stable long term filtration performance compared to microfiltration.
