Electric Fence Earthing System

3x Earth Grounding Rods (13.85mm diameter), 3x Brass Clamp

If you are setting up an electric fence then your earthing system is something you should pay careful attention to.

If your earthing system is set up incorrectly then you won’t generate sufficient shock to keep your animals in or out of your enclosure.

This item is a single copper-plated earth rod, and a single brass clamp.

The earth rods are designed with optimum conductivity in mind. They are made from stainless steel with a copper coating.

The earth rod has a clamp attached to secure your lead out wire.

Each earth rod is 1m in length
Insert your earth rod approximately 80cm into the earth, leaving 20cm exposed.

We recommend placing your earth rod within 25m of your energiser. You should place the earth rod in as wet an area as possible.

You can pour water around your earth rod to keep the ground moist. If the earth is particularly dry or sandy then you can consider running an earth wire through your electric fence. This is an alternative method for setting up an electric fence which will eliminate the variability associated with dry conditions.
