A lightweight, adjustable and removable wrist/thumb brace that can be used as a protective cast. The wrist brace protects the thumb and wrist following sprains and fractures while allowing the full finger function.

Indications

It can be used:

• Following a sprained or broken wrist.
  
  


• Following a broken thumb or sprained thumb (a.k.a. Skier's Thumb).
  
  


• Post-op, post removal of casting or during the healing stage of thumb and wrist ligament injuries.
  
  


• Following ligament instability, sprain or muscle strain

How does it work?

The wrist brace has a strong but lightweight plastic cast to immobilise and protect the wrist and thumb, it is easy to wear and can be easily removed to allow you to wash and to carry out rehabilitation exercises. This helps to speed up the healing process.

The Aircast A2 Wrist Brace with Thumb Spica has dual removable stabilisers/ splints located above and below the wrist, they are designed to support the wrist and control its movement. The adjustable Velcro straps ensure a personalised fit. The contoured shape and cool, dry Breath-O-Prene (R) material ensures good comfort.

The Thumb Spica provides additional protection for the thumb, another Velcro strap ensures thumb immobilisation in a neutral position. This is ideal for allowing thumb injuries to heal and it can be worn during most daily activities
