This tool-less design allows for simple access to both the RAM, SSD, and fans, and we’ve also brought our latest Q-latch system here for those SSD slots. Like an experienced pit crew, you can remove and replace your SSD and RAM in seconds, having the machine back up and running without missing a lap. A specially designed frame covers the rest of the mainboard to protect the other components, but can easily be removed with a few screws for users who want to tinker further.
Q-Latch System
M.2 SSDs are incredibly small and versatile, but the traditional mounting system involves tiny standoffs and screws that can be difficult to manipulate. ROG solved this problem with Q-Latch, a system that first debuted on our award-winning desktop motherboards. Q-Latch uses a simple, tool-less plastic hinge to securely retain your M.2 SSDs, no screwdriver required.

ROG Intelligent Cooling
We’ve completely revamped the cooling solution of the 2025 Strix SCAR 18 with precise calculations in mind to ensure that you get the best gaming experience with your machine, every time. We relocated all of the exhaust vents to the rear of the hinge, keeping warm air away from your mousing hand. The sides and bottom of the machine act as an air intake, creating a natural, efficient path for airflow. Air also flows through the keyboard deck, keeping your hands cooler during intense gaming sessions. When pairing an end-to-end vapor chamber with a sandwiched heatsink, Tri-Fan Technology, and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both CPU & GPU, the 2025 Strix SCAR 18 achieves a lower noise level in Turbo Mode compared to the previous generation, while still offering the same calculated excellence you expect from a Strix SCAR machine.

End-to-end Vapor Chamber
We’ve used vapor chambers in our high-end ROG machines before, but the component inside the heart of the 2025 Strix SCAR 18 is truly special. We’ve designed a vapor chamber with different layers to more accurately match the layout of the motherboard, for maximum contact on the CPU and GPU. We also pushed the vapor chamber all the way to the rear of the chassis, sandwiching it between the upper and lower heatsinks to further optimize heat dissipation.
Sandwiched heatsink
The entire rear portion of the Strix SCAR 18 is dedicated to its full-width heatsink. The upper and lower sections are built from 0.1mm thick copper fins, for a total surface area of 213041 mm². This sandwiched design uses all available space for the densely packed fins, giving the SCAR 18 ultra-efficient thermal performance without increasing bulk.
Tri-Fan Technology
Our cutting-edge Tri-Fan Technology directs air though precisely calculated cutouts in the chassis, sending airflow directly towards internal components to keep them cool in all conditions. A third auxiliary fan sends additional heat from the GPU and VRAM directly to the heatsinks, keeping the machine cool during long video renders or gaming sessions.
Conductonaut Extreme Liquid Metal
The Strix SCAR 18 features Thermal Grizzly’s cutting-edge Conductonaut Extreme, which improves upon the already incredible heat transfer found in standard liquid metals. Compared to traditional thermal pastes, this indium- and gallium-based compound offers 17X higher conductivity, in addition to CPU and GPU temperature reductions of up to 15 degrees. Used exclusively by ROG, this material offers the highest thermal transfer available on a laptop.
Ambient cooling
The new rear facing exhaust, redesigned vapor chamber, and 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans allowed us to bring the operating volume in Turbo Mode down from last generation.
0.1mm ultra-thin fins
The Strix SCAR 18’s heatsink features ultra-thin 0.1mm copper fins, providing the perfect balance between airflow and density to keep heat dissipation optimal.
CoolZone keyboard
Extended gaming sessions can heat up internal components and make the keyboard warm to the touch. The SCAR 18 boasts the largest airflow cutouts we’ve ever added to a laptop, which allows the fans to draw in fresh air from above and through the keyboard deck. This keeps your fingers cool during marathon gaming sessions, while also improving overall system airflow.
Dust Filter
The ROG Strix SCAR 18 features a dust filter on its intake vents. Dust and fibers can collect inside the machine, trapping heat and causing degraded performance over time. A filter helps keep dust out, allowing the CPU and GPU to breathe easier for years of smooth and stable operation.

Our Silent, Performance, and Turbo modes are just the beginning. Nebula HDR Engine
The Nebula HDR engine is a purpose-built local dimming algorithm that produces stunning highlights with unparalleled depth. Trained on an instruction set of more than 150 videos and over 2000 still photos, the algorithm can dynamically adjust the HDR lighting needed to minimize blooming around individual dimming zones by 25%.
ACR Technology
This year, we even added two layers of Ambient Contrast Ratio film to the display, which reduces reflections by 55% and provides up to 4.5x better contrast, ensuring the image stays punchy, vivid, and accurate. A second layer boosts viewing angle for a 180° ultra-clear view, providing an image that looks just as good off-center as it does straight on. This machine doesn't just perform at a high level – it draws you into the visuals, with colors so realistic it’s as if you were right in the middle of the action.
Dolby Vision Technology
Scene to scene, frame to frame, Dolby Vision makes media look better. The technology improves on standard 4K high dynamic range (HDR) video, dynamically adjusting visuals to make every image in front of you richer, brighter, and livelier. Creators can film and edit their streams, videos, and other content in a format commonly used by industry professionals.
Pantone Color Validation
Each IPS-level display is factory-calibrated to ensure that colors are accurate to the Pantone® palette. Artists, designers, and content creators can add high-quality content to their portfolios and enjoy richer gaming visuals all on the same machine.
100% DCI-P3 Color Coverage
While the sRGB color space is the standard for most digital visuals, it only represents about 75% of the DCI-P3 spectrum used for professional filmmaking. Displays with complete DCI-P3 coverage offer a wide color gamut for more vibrant images, letting you see films and other media exactly the way they were meant to be experienced.
NVIDIA G-SYNC
Nothing breaks in-game immersion like stuttering and tearing. Changing your mind / purchasing the wrong product by mistake
If you change your mind after making a purchase, or realise you have purchased the incorrect item, you can enjoy the peace of mind that we offer a 7 day exchange policy. (excludes special order items).
If there is not a suitable product that can be exchanged for your returned item you will be offered a refund to your account based on the value paid at the time of purchase.
to supply the correct product the incorrect product will first need to be returned to us;
we will need to be notified within 7 days of purchase / delivery;
the incorrect product supplied must be in a sealed / unopened condition.
The buyer is responsible for covering the return packing and shipping costs for a change of mind return.
Incorrectly supplied products
If you have been accidentally supplied the wrong product, F Digital can supply the correct product (where it is available) or issue a refund.
In order to supply the correct product, the incorrect product will first need to be returned to us. F Digital can arrange a return ticket to send the incorrect product back by courier.
In this scenario we will need to be notified ASAP and the incorrect product supplied must be in resalable / unused condition with original packaging and accessories.
Products damaged in transit
If your product has been damaged during transit to your delivery address an investigation will be conducted. Once the investigation has reached a conclusion and it is determined the product has been damaged in transit we will offer a refund.Â
Please contact us ASAP. We will then advise you to visit your nearest Australia Post Office so that they can investigate the damage. You will need to keep all packaging so that their team are able to make a fair assessment.Â
Products that are faulty within the warranty period
If your product is faulty or has stopped working as intended and is still within the warranty period specified when you purchased your product, F Digital will repair or or issue a refund.
In order to repair or issue a refund for your faulty product, it will need to be returned to us so we can test and confirm that it is faulty. For some products you may also be able to contact the manufacturer directly to arrange a repair / replacement.
Returns of this nature can be made any time within the warranty period and it is your responsibility to cover any costs of returning the product to us.
Testing fees and return freight
If you return a product to us that is not faulty, you may be liable for a testing fee and freight charges to return the product to you.
Returns may take approximately 4 weeks to arrive back with our returns team in NZ to process.
Restocking fees
In some special circumstances, we may agree (at our discretion) to accept a return of a product that is not faulty. In these situations there will be a handling fee equal to at least 20% of the purchased price. Delivery, service and assembly fees are not refunded at all.
