The BBB Tithon helmet presents an unrivaled fusion of aerodynamic prowess and thermal well-being. In recent years, a notable shift has occurred in helmet design trends, transitioning from a focus on ventilation-centric models to designs that prioritize sleek aerodynamics. While we recognize the allure of reduced wind resistance, we also acknowledge that this emphasis on aerodynamics has, at times, compromised rider comfort by sacrificing ventilation. Collaborating with the Technical University of Delft's Advanced Embodiment Design team, we embarked on an extensive study of the thermodynamic and aerodynamic performance of cycling helmets. Right from the inception of our design process, our primary aim was to identify the ideal equilibrium between minimizing drag and maximizing ventilation. Armed with these valuable insights, we collaborated with TU Delft's 3D modeling team, rigorously tested a range of prototypes in wind tunnels, and ultimately concluded the most arduous development journey ever undertaken for a BBB product. The result is the groundbreaking Tithon helmet—an optimal fusion of speed and rider comfort, affectionately referred to by our professional riders as "Free Speed."
