It's features are compatible with other good quality saws and if one already has compatible Makita batteries & charger with other tools, this saw has an almost unbeatable cost / value edge over other manufacturers saws if one needs to also buy their batteries and, with Makita's ubiquitous battery availability, because one day all batteries die, his saw was the logical choice.
