How to choose theĀ right length of the track?Ā Ā 

Ā Formula to calculate the track length:

Track Length > or = Opening Width + One door's width + 200mm (overlap)

For the bypass system, the doors overlap each other in the middle when they are closed byĀ 200mm. If you do open the two doors onto one sidewall, they take more space than one door's width by 150mm.Ā 

When choosing the door size you also need to add the overlap to the opening so the doors can fully cover it.Ā

For the plasterboard wall, you will need to add some structural support. Follow these steps to add support to the wall.

  1. Locate the studs with a stud finderĀ 
  2. Mount a timber board to the studs
  3. Mount the track to the timber board
