In the creator's imagination, Cabotine is a daughter of Cabochard, a younger generation perfume, which has preserved the elegance and distinction of Cabochard. It was created with love and enthusiasm, with a very limited budget, and it became a classic of the 1990-ties. It was created by Jean-Claude Delville from IFF, and he was expected to make a light but lasting perfume, what was a hard task to do. The perfumer found its formula in floral-aldehyde accord and presented a transparent fragrance with green floral and sharp aldehyde notes. The perfume is very light, easy to wear and at the same time tenacious. It achieved success regardless of very limited advertising and promotional support. The composition is created around the ginger lily, also known as a butterfly lily, a Himalayan large-petalled white flower. Growing in harsh high mountains climate, this plant blooms for only a few weeks in the spring time, and each flower lives only for a few hours, what makes it difficult, almost impossible, to extract the oil. An IFF pioneering researcher, Dr. Braja Mookherjee, found a way to analyse the oil structure using the 'living-flower' technique, and to copy the fragrance of the ginger lily, what enabled the industrial production. Cabotine is the first perfume which contains ginger lily in its composition. The top notes contain blackcurrant buds, pear, plum and corriander. The heart is composed of rose, tuberose, ylang-ylang, ginger lily, hyacinth, heliotrop, fresia, violet and iris. The base notes are cedarwood, vanilla, tonka bean, cybet, musk and amber. The perfume was created in 1990. The bottle, whose stopper was turned into a shape of flower, was created by Thierry Lecoule. The nose behind this fragrance is Jean Claude Delville. Madame Alix Grès (née Germaine Emilie Krebs) was born in 1903 in Paris, France. She desired to be a sculptor, but without a fruitful career, she soon switched to women's hat-making. Her first fashion house, "Alex Couture," opened in 1934 and was her shift towards couture. Madame Grès designed her gowns in the fashion of a sculptor—directly on the bodies of her models. Very soon she became famous and her name became a synonym for elegance—"The Star of Elegance." She created garments for royal families, aristocracy and the celebrities of her time: Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Vivien Leigh and others. One of her first muses was Isadora Duncan. Several years after marrying Russian painter Serge Czerefkov (1937) the famous creator changed her name to Madame Grès in 1942, as it was an anagram of her husband's name and also his alias. Soon after they got married, her husband left France for French Polynesia and "forgot to return." During World War II and the German occupation of France, Madame Grès, patriotic to the core, was creating clothes around the three colors of France—blue, white and red. The first perfume of the Grès house, Cabochard, was created in 1958, after Madame Grès returned from a trip to India. Cabochard was inspired by a new generation of perfumes, including Tabac Blond (1919), Cuir de Russie (1924), Scandal (1933), and Bandit (1944). In 1982 Madame Grès had to sell her perfume business for the sake of her Haute Couture house. The company Parfums Grès changed hands several times until it was finally bought by Silvio Denz in 2001. Today Parfums Grès is based in Switzerland. The first perfume launched by the new owner was Cabaret (2003), after which comes Cabaret Homme (2004) and Caline (2005). Madame Grès died in 1993 in her house in the South of France, but her death was not announced until a year later, on December 14, 1994 in Le Monde. The Perfume Warehouse offers free shipping on orders to most metro cities and major regional centres across Australia (excludes oversized items). Your order will be shipped from our warehouse, which is located in Sydney, within 1-2 working days of receiving the order excluding public holidays & weekends. The majority of our parcels are delivered by Australia Post however occasionally we work with other courier partners to provide the most efficient delivery service with the most reasonable price. ** Due to Covid-19 courier drivers are not required to obtain customer signatures. We recommend that the delivery address you provide is attended at all times such as a work address. In the very unlikely event that your item is lost or damaged during post, then we are responsible and will issue either a full refund or replacement (photos must be sent of damages). Tracking details are emailed to customers upon dispatch.

A signature is not required upon delivery unless requested otherwise in the order notes. The driver will leave the parcel only if safe to do so, otherwise a missed delivery card will left behind. Returns | Warranties | Damaged or Faulty items

Please choose wisely as refunds for receiving what you purchased but simply changed your mind, found the product cheaper somewhere else, or decided you didn't like the purchase or had no use for it will not be refunded.

Exchanges can be organised within 20 days of receiving the item, but all shipping costs and price differences must be covered by the customer. Under the Australian Consumer law, you may have the right to return/exchange an item if you believe the item to be faulty. This right is not limited by a defined time frame.

When exchanging items, replacement items will be dispatched once original items are received back by The Perfume Warehouse. Items must be in original condition, including but not limited to all plastic seals and wrappers, labels, stickers, etc. for item to be exchanged. Once a perfume has been opened and/or sprayed all returns are strictly prohibited.

If you believe you have been sent an incorrect item, contact The Perfume Warehouse and they will rectify any possible mistakes. Do not, under any circumstances break the plastic seal or spray a perfume you believe to be the incorrect item. If this occurs, The Perfume Warehouse are unable to accept the return for health and safety reasons.

All items are dispatched unused, undamaged and in original condition. If there are any aesthetic imperfections on your item before being sent, you will be contacted by staff prior to dispatch.

If item has been broken during delivery, please keep all packaging, including the packaging it was sent in. The Perfume Warehouse will require images of the broken item and the relevant packaging. We may require you to take the entirety of the parcel, including what it was sent and wrapped in, to a post office for further inspection.

In the case that an item is faulty, The Perfume Warehouse may deem it necessary to send the item back to the manufacturer or their service agent for an assessment; this will be done promptly within a reasonable period. In this case, if the item is deemed faulty by the manufacturer you may then be given a refund or exchange, depending on the situation and judgement of The Perfume Warehouse.

If the item is damaged through misuse or abnormal use of the product, as defined by The Perfume Warehouse we will not provide a refund or exchange.

If The Perfume Warehouse finds that the product does not have a problem once sent back, we charge a 20% fee for collection and inspection costs. This will be made known to you before you ship the product.
