Flat Metal Kebab Skewers
Model: SKCY50
If you are tired of using timber skewers that burn when barbecuing, or you are over-burning your fingers on cheap metal skewers then our flat metal kebab skewers by Flaming Coals are the perfect solution.
With a 13cm long wooden handle, these flat metal skewers are easy to grab, rotate and maneuver on your BBQ without having the fear of burning your hands, something that is guaranteed to happen on metal skewers without timber handles.
These sturdy metal skewers are flat and wide which means they can easily handle big pieces of steak with ease but are not so wide that you can't use them with your vegetables. At 10mm wide they are the perfect width! The flat metal shaft is composed of high-carbon stainless steel, which heats up rapidly and uniformly distributes heat throughout the meat, ensuring that you always get flawlessly cooked food. You can also wrap minced meat around the thick skewer making them great for Persian-style kabab koobideh, Turkish adana kebabi, Cypriot sheftalia or any type of kofta.

What are the benefits of metal skewers?
The biggest benefit of using metal skewers is that they are reusable. Purchase them once and they will last a lifetime. They're also easy to use and safer than timber skewers. If the metal skewers have a timber handle, then you can pick them up and maneuver them around your barbecue with ease and without burning your hands. Another benefit over timber skewers is that you do not need to soak the skewer before use to prevent them from catching on fire, just skewer your meat on the flat metal skewer and start cooking.
Are flat skewers better than square or round skewers?
They both have their pros and cons. Generally speaking, the flat skewers are better because your meat won't spin on the skewer when you are rotating it on the barbecue. This is perfect when cooking larger cuts of meat as it is harder to skewer them so they are balanced. Flat skewers are also essential when cooking softer minced style recipes such as koobideh, adana kebabi, sheftalia or any type of kofta. Round or square skewers are perfect for smaller cuts of meats
Why are timber handles important on skewers?
Timber handles are a must on a metal skewer, metal conducts heat and heat travels along the metal skewer, this means that the end of the skewer you need to pick up will be hot. The timber skewer will provide insulation and stop your hand from burning
Should I oil my metal skewers?
You don't need to oil the flat metal skewer, however, oiling the skewer with cooking oil or a non-stick spray will stop the ingredients from sticking to the skewer when it's time to remove them at the end.
Are these metal skewers dishwasher safe?
Yes, you can pop these skewers in the dishwasher or simply use a scour pad after you remove your cooked food. Because they are stainless steel, you will not remove any coating from the skewer by scrubbing them with a scouring pad.
A large number of BBQ Spit Rotisseries' products are covered for a period of one year from the date of purchase against defects in workmanship and materials. Some even come with a 24 month warranty such as Flaming Coals branded rotisserie motors. Please refer to the product's description to check if a warranty is provided for the product.
The product warranty becomes void if the product shows evidence of being dropped, exposed to the elements, tampering, mishandling or mis-use such as excessive fire or a motor not being counter-weighted. Stainless steel is not immune to rusting/pitting and is therefore not covered under warranty.
Charcoal pans inside spit roasters are designed to take the brunt of the heat to protect the structural integrity of the spit roaster body. Due to the extreme heat generated when cooking with briquettes/charcoal, some bending of the pan is inevitable and will occur regardless of the thickness of the steel. This is not covered under warranty.
All BBQ Spit Rotisseries' products have been tested and deemed suitable for domestic use only. Using these products commercially voids the warranty. The warranty does not cover postal cost, insurance, incidental charges or any other loss incurred.
