Yes, the NT510 BMW scanner only come with one free car maker(BMW) diagnostic software. You need pay extra fee to add other car makers, each car makers diagnostic software is $60. And after that the software is free for lifelong.
Affordable but Professional

Such functions are usually only available from BMW dealer level scanners or much more expensive professional scanners.
