Hibiscus (Hibiscus Sabdariffa / Egyptian Red Tea/ Karkade tea / Roselle) has benefits of reducing blood pressure, cholesterol levels, aids the immune and digestive systems, and acts as an anti-inflammatory. Another interesting benefit of this tea is that it speeds up metabolism which may promote gradual and safe weight loss.

As our version of this tea is quite strong, you can reuse the same leaves up to three times. Also good chilled! (maybe even better).

For further reading on the many benefits of Hibiscus Tea, please read our article here.

Please see our feedback and reviews below in regards to blood pressure - it really does work for many people! Please also check your blood pressure regularly and consult with doctor if taking, as you may find that your medication may be now lowering it more than needed.

Organically Grown in Sri Lanka

Regardless of whether you are an avid or an occasional tea drinker, you are sure to enjoy the soothing and calming effects of hibiscus tea. As a leading distributor of hibiscus tea in Australia, you can rest assured that when you place your order through Tea Life, you will receive nothing but the highest quality product to indulge in any time of day. Hibiscus Tea

When making your tea, our recommendation is to add one to two teaspoons of the dried hibiscus flowers to one cup of water. You can easily consume up to three cups of tea per day and enjoy the soothing and healthy results.

Brewing
  1. Place 1-2 whole (or the equivalent of ) hibiscus flowers within strainer and then add boiling water. You should see the flowers release a red to purple color.
  2. Allow the hibiscus tea to steep for approximately 1 minute. Brew the tea longer for a stronger flavor or for a shorter period for a lighter tea.
Cautionary

Marked as 'possibly unsafe' during pregnancy.

"To lower blood pressure, health professionals with the University of Michigan Health System recommend infusing 1 cup of water with 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried hibiscus flowers. You can consume up to three cups of hibiscus tea daily. Alternatively, drinking one 500 milliliters serving of hibiscus tea each day before breakfast may also help to lower your blood pressure levels."

Blending options for our Hibiscus Tea leaves

Justyn - "I make 2-3 litres of hibiscus & hawthorn tea at a time before refrigerating it and enjoying it over ice. For 3 litres I use about 6 tbsp of Hibiscus and 1 tbsp of Hawthorn. It is so good I drink around a litre or more of the stuff a day! Great product, great service, great health"
