Tasting Notes: The palate is densely layered, its long, textured and richly full bodied. Blackberry and cherry with forest floor almost earthy like characters. Well-structured its a powerful wine with epic length and fine tannins. Sourced from a single vineyard from our oldest fruit on the vineyard located just outside the township of Heathcote bordering the O’Keefe Rail Trial. The vineyards aspect is northeast facing with a gentle sloping contour in the world renowned ancient Cambrian soils. Fruit was hand picked and de-stemmed prior to crushing and recieved extended fermentation with 50% whole punches for 30 days. We used a combination of new and old American and French oak to develop flavour in line with fruit concentration for an extending period of 36 months prior to 15 barrels being bottled then underwent further bottle aging prior to release.
