SHIMANO PD-RS500 SPD-SL single side pedals for road riding

The PD-RS500 is Shimano's budget-priced single-sided road pedal. Budget-priced but not budget-built, the RS-500 pedals feature beautifully smooth, low-resistance bearings, light weight and great durability. The RS500 pedals look great with a design modelled on the top-of-the-line DuraAce models. Cleat tension is adjustable, with a very 'light' starting point to suit first-time road SPD users.

Who is this product for? Probably first time road clip-in pedal users, or someone wanting a spare pair of pedals for their training bike or stationary smart-trainer.

The Bicycle Depot Top Technical Tip: The RS500 pedals come with the standard yellow SM-SH11 cleats with 6 degrees of float, which will suit just about everyone. If you have other requirements, check out the other Shimano road cleats, the red SM-SH10 with zero float and the blue SM-SH12 with 2 degrees of float. Whichever you choose, try not to walk on your cleats too much, this will wear them quickly. Inspect your cleats regularly and replace if they look worn.

The Australian Consumer Law has introduced new requirements in respect of warranties against defects for goods supplied on and from 1 January 2012.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Naturally, any item to be used by a child requires careful adult selection and use should be under adult supervision. Items must only be used by children of an appropriate age. Guidelines are given but the final decision must be made by the selecting adult taking into account the nature of the child concerned. A photographic image may be required to support your warranty claim. In the instance The Bicycle Depot deems the product to have been misused your warranty claim may not be honoured. Warranty spare part requests can take approximately 1 weeks. Some spare parts might need to be sourced directly from our supplier so longer lead times may apply in which instance you will be notified
