Use this 15mm Poly HD Barrel Union in a situation where you'll most like need to remove or service a component later down the track. Barrel unions allow you to detach sections of the pipeline simply by unscrewing the fitting. Otherwise the pipeline has to be cut and rejoined and often that is a hassle because of the inflexibility of PVC pipe.

Barrel unions are frequently used in pump setups. Because pumps need to be serviced they need to be simple to remove, a barrel union makes this process easy.
