What is L-Ascorbic Acid?
L-Ascorbic Acid is a natural water-soluble vitamin (Vitamin C) which is naturally present in some foods and is available as a dietary supplement. Found in citrus, other fruits, and in vegetables, vitamin C cannot be produced or stored by humans and must be obtained in the diet.
Vitamin C is important for bones and connective tissues, muscles, and blood vessels. Vitamin C also helps the body absorb iron, which is needed for red blood cell production. L-Ascorbic acid is used to treat and prevent vitamin C deficiency.
L-Ascorbic Acid is a potent antioxidant agent that functions in fighting bacterial infections, in detoxifying reactions, and in the formation of collagen in fibrous tissue, teeth, bones, connective tissue, skin, and capillaries.
