Spirulina Powder

This high protein powder is made from an algae, and is often recommended for vegans and vegetarians due to the fact that it’s very high in vitamin B1 and iron. It’s also the most nutrient dense food on the planet, packed with antioxidants, calcium and omega 3. It’s often added to smoothies or other beverages because of its intense earthy flavour tones.

Spirulina Smoothie:

• Ingredients: 1 banana, 1 cup spinach, 1 teaspoon spirulina powder, 1 cup almond milk, ice cubes.
• Instructions: Blend all ingredients until smooth. Serve chilled.

Spirulina Energy Balls:

• Ingredients: 1 cup dates, 1/2 cup nuts (almonds, walnuts), 1 tablespoon spirulina powder, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, 1 tablespoon honey.
• Instructions: Blend all ingredients in a food processor until well combined. Roll into balls and refrigerate until firm.

Spirulina Face Mask:

• Ingredients: 1 tablespoon spirulina powder, 1 tablespoon yogurt, 1 teaspoon honey.
• Instructions: Mix all ingredients to form a paste. Apply to the face and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Spirulina Detox Juice:

• Ingredients: 1 apple, 1 cucumber, 1 celery stalk, 1 teaspoon spirulina powder, 1 cup water.
• Instructions: Blend all ingredients and strain if desired. Drink immediately.
