The ELQ Earth Leakage breaker combines overload, short circuit and residual current (earth leakage) protection in one compact unit in either one or two pole configurations. The two pole ELQ incorporates a switched neutral on the left side pole.

This style of circuit breaker, which has become mandatory in new installations, safeguards people from the danger of electric shock by instantly interrupting the electrical circuit to the load when a fault current to earth exceeds the rated sensitivity.

Protection applications include such areas as electrical office equipment, industrial plants, electrical hand tools, GPOs and socket outlets.

Athough the breaker combines three functions, the mounting width space is the same as a standard single-pole Quicklag circuit breaker.
