RAXX Stereo Phono Preamp

This is a dedicated stereo pre-amplifier box that boosts the signal level from your turntable/record player to a signal level required for a standard Hi-Fi system or receiver unit. This inline phono pre-amp is necessary if your main amplifier does not have a dedicated phono input.

This unit is powered by a standard 9V battery (not included). On the chassis, you'll find two screws that keep the lid on tight. These screws also allow you to mount your turntable's ground wire to the chassis and remove any unwanted hum in your record playback.

Why do I need a preamp?

A phono pre-amplifier is designed to boost the signal from a turntable or record player before the signal is passed to your Hi-Fi amplifier or receiver. Typically the signal output from a turntable or record player is quite weak, and it's required to be boosted before it hits the main amplifier of your stereo or hi-fi unit.

On the Flip-Side...

Some hi-fi amplifiers or receivers have a dedicated "phono" input and some modern turntables have a "line" level output - this simply means they have a phono preamp built-in and an external one is not necessary. But if your system or player doesn't have this feature built-in, you'll need a separate preamp (like this one).

Instructions:

Open the chassis of the RAXX phono pre-amp and connect a 9V battery (sold separately)
Connect the left and right channel outputs of your record player to the L and R input jacks of the RAXX phono pre-amp.
If your turntable has a ground wire, connect it to one of the screws on the chassis of the RAXX phono pre-amp.
Connect the L and R outputs of the RAXX phono pre-amp to the left and right line input jacks (CD/AUX/TUNER, etc.) of your stereo amplifier.
Switch the unit on and enjoy your favourite records!

Note: When the sound quality deteriorates, it is time to replace the battery.

Incorrect Item Sent

In the unlikely event you have received an incorrect item, please contact us immediately of receipt and we will organise delivery of the correct item. We will despatch the correct item to you immediately upon notification of the error. We will then organise the return of the incorrect item to us at no cost to you.

Incorrect Item Ordered

We offer an exchange or refund if you have purchased an incorrect item.

If you've ordered an incorrect item, we will happily exchange it for the correct item or offer a refund for the cost of the item ordered.

Please contact us to organise your exchange within 30 days of receiving the item, and return it to us within 30 days.

Any postage costs incurred from the return of the goods for exchange are the responsibility of the customer.

Any difference in price for an exchanged item will need to be paid in full by the customer upon request of the exchange.

We will ship your replacement item as soon as we receive your returned goods.

Unwanted Items/Change of mind

For unwanted items we offer either an exchange or a refund if you change your mind.

If you decide that you do not want the item that you have purchased, then you may return it to us subject to a few conditions:

Please contact us to request the return within 30 days of receiving the item, and return the item to us within 30 days.

Any postage costs incurred from the return of the unwanted item(s) are the responsibility of the customer.

All unwanted items should be returned unused in their original condition, and in the original packaging.

We will not be able to process an exchange or refund until the returned item has been received and processed by our Returns Department.

We do not charge a restocking or handling fee.

Please note: if any item is not returned in original condition, or is returned with any part of the packaging missing, we will not be able to offer an exchange or refund. This includes items that have had shipping labels attached directly to the product packaging.

We are either the manufacturer or authorised reseller of all the products listed under our Selby brand name and you can be assured every item is genuine and brand new unless specifically described otherwise. Every product we sell includes at least a 12 month warranty (eg: electrical products) and many of our products include a lifetime warranty. In the rare case that you do experience any problems you can deal directly with us to get any issues resolved.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
