The composer is known chiefly for his compositions forwind instruments, Concerto inE flat major for Clarinet and Orchestra, Op. 36, being one such example. Thepiece waswritten in 1803 and is exceptional for its superb instrumental setting andformal balance.Without exaggeration, Kramar's concerto is described as the most performedclarinetconcerto in the Czech repertoire. The piano reduction was written by composerLadislavSimon, and the solo part was revised by prof. Jiri Kratochvil. This practical editionis partof the Musica Antiqua Bohemica series.
