Tasmanian Pink Eye
This variety produces medium sized round shaped potatoes with white and pink splotchy skin and white flesh. They are a creamy waxy potato and are great for boiling, mashing and potato salad.
Seed potatoes are tubers meant for planting, they are usually smaller than tubers for eating, you can expect your crop to be larger in size overall.
Sowing time
Cool climates - After last frost August-October
Temperate Climates - Mid July - October
Warm / Tropical climates - April-August
Prefer sunny position, prepare bed deeply at least 25cm down, soil should be friable to avoid odd shaped potatoes.
Sow in 10cm deep furrows with 25 cm between tubers and 75cm between rows. Fertilise well.
Tubers can be cut to make more planting pieces, be sure each piece has an €˜eye€™ or sprout.
