Our multiple award-winning Udo’s Oil® 3·6·9 Blend is a mix of plant-based, unrefined, certified organic food oils. WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
EFAs are responsible for vital biological functions such as cell growth and division, cell-to-cell communication, gene expression, eicosanoid hormone production, and many more.(1,2) The body can make almost all the fatty acids it needs from other nutrients but lacks the enzymes required to synthesize either omega-3 or omega-6 essential fatty acids and therefore must obtain them directly from the diet, hence the name ‘essential’.(3)
